Peace world! I thought a lot about having my own blog where I can just write about the things that have been on my mind recently so, here it is! My first official blog entry. Reminds me of when I started my musical journey, trying to get on as many blogs as possible, lmao. Anyways, today I wanted to talk about the story behind my new song “FOOT DOWN”. Those that follow me on social media might know that I’ve recently been to Belgrade, Serbia to work on some music. “FOOT DOWN” is one of the songs that I have created during that time. What inspired me to write the song was a few conversations I had with some of the locals there. What stood out to me was the resilience of the city’s people. Not sure if you’re familiar with Balkan history but the city has endured multiple conflicts and it has been destroyed and rebuilt over 40 times. That was crazy to hear and it was really inspiring, leading to the creation of “FOOT DOWN”. I wanted to make a song about resilience as I can really relate, especially when it comes to being an artist building something from scratch, without a recipe. Often times all we have to succeed is resilience, and I think it has become one of my most important traits as an artist.
